Technology Research Manager (Industrial Circuit Protection)

What you will do

• Lead the global research and technology development portfolio for the Industrial Circuit Protection business, covering products, processes, materials, and technologies.
• Identify emerging technologies and market trends and translate research findings into practical applications and product opportunities.
• Manage innovation projects from ideation and proof of concept through development, technology transfer, and manufacturing implementation.
• Build partnerships with universities, technology centers, suppliers, customers, and strategic partners worldwide.
• Establish and improve innovation processes, including project selection, Stage-Gate milestones, resources, budgets, and reporting.
• Lead research funding applications, intellectual property activities, and the development of prototype and laboratory testing capabilities.

Requirements

• PhD in Engineering, preferably in materials science, welding, fuseology, or electrical protection systems.
• Experience in research, innovation, technology development, or a related technical environment.
• Strong experience managing innovation projects, ideally in an international organization.
• Understanding of product development cycles, Stage-Gate processes, product standards, and testing methods.
• Experience transferring technologies from research or prototype stages into industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish are required.

Nice to have

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering background.
• Experience with Basque, Spanish, or European research funding programs.
