Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid work based in Timisoara or Sibiu, Romania; 50% work from home

What you will do

• Plan, build, operate, and maintain Azure and T Cloud Public infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, and Kubernetes clusters.
• Administer containerized and stateful workloads, handling high availability, patching, version upgrades, troubleshooting, and day-two operations.
• Operate Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, SQL Server/Azure SQL, Keycloak, and related data, streaming, and identity services.
• Own backup and restore processes using Velero and native cloud backup services, and lead root-cause analysis after incidents.
• Apply TLS/mTLS, RBAC, secrets management, least-privilege access, autoscaling, right-sizing, and FinOps practices.
• Operate data and vector stores for AI workloads and support the production rollout of new AI use cases with the AI and Operations teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on production experience with Azure and/or T Cloud Public infrastructure.
• Strong Kubernetes experience, ideally with AKS, including stateful workloads.
• Experience with several of Kafka, Keycloak, Redis, PostgreSQL, SQL Server/Azure SQL, and Velero.
• Infrastructure as Code and GitOps experience, plus solid networking and security fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, multi-cloud production environments and experience or genuine interest in AI infrastructure.
• Fluent English required; German is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with T Cloud Public, Open Telekom Cloud, or OpenStack-based environments.
• Vector database experience, such as pgvector, for AI and retrieval use cases.
• Experience with AWS or relevant Azure, CKA, or CKAD certifications.
