Software Engineer III Core Platform (Go/Java)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, Washington; U.S. work authorization required

Base pay: $164,652.00–$230,512.80 annually for Washington applicants; other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available backend services, APIs, microservices, and distributed-system components using Go and Java.
• Develop the managed API layer, shared data models, event contracts, messaging, and integrations across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and mission operations.
• Build configuration- and schema-driven workflow orchestration, business-rules engines, and real-time event-streaming data pipelines.
• Deploy and operate cloud-native services on AWS using infrastructure as code, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
• Build React-based interfaces and collaborate with frontend engineers and designers on reliable user-facing applications.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, root-cause analysis, code reviews, design reviews, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development and production deployment experience.
• Proficiency in at least one statically typed language, such as Go or Java, and one dynamically typed language, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience with AWS, distributed systems, REST or GraphQL, asynchronous APIs, message brokers, relational and NoSQL databases, and API or event-contract design.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, Docker, Kubernetes, production on-call support, incident response, and postmortems.
• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools, with sound judgment regarding correctness, security, reliability, and governance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow orchestration, business-rules engines, configuration-driven systems, or real-time event-streaming platforms.
• React, GraphQL federation, Terraform or AWS CDK, distributed tracing, and observability-platform experience.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as ERP, PLM, or MES, or working in aerospace, manufacturing, or supply chain domains.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and evaluating AI-generated code for production readiness.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
