Application Developer (AI/ML)

Location: Hybrid in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Houston, Texas; or Birmingham, Alabama.

Salary: USD $104,000–$181,800 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and support operational, commercial, and financial business intelligence, workflow automation, and predictive analytics solutions using AI/ML technologies, primarily for the natural gas business unit.
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications for applications, system interfaces, reporting, data aggregation and transformation, enterprise data models, and analytics tools.
• Support SSRS, Power BI, Excel, and SSIS solutions and collaborate with the IT AI-BI Team on future enterprise BI and data analytics solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and business process issues, maintain solution documentation, and ensure alignment with IT standards, security policies, and organizational strategy.
• Partner with Commercial, Contract Administration, Nominations/Scheduling, Gas Control, System Design, Account Services, Business Development, Financial Planning, Risk Management, DBA, infrastructure, and network security groups.
• Identify optimization, process improvement, and cost-reduction opportunities; refine procedures and communicate progress to management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced expertise in SQL, Power BI, SSRS, Excel, and Python.
• Ability to write, analyze, and maintain complex SQL, DAX, and Python scripts.
• Ability to learn and develop with new tools such as Palantir Foundry.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to prioritize work in deadline-driven, high-pressure environments, multitask, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Adherence to IT standards, change management procedures, best practices, and personal and organizational safety requirements.
