Senior Associate Engineer – Test & Validation (Exhaust Systems)

Location: Peterborough, United Kingdom; onsite five days per week. Less than 10% travel is required.

Salary: £41,593, dependent upon experience.

What you will do

• Develop, validate, and integrate exhaust system components, including canisters, brackets, clamps, pipework, mixer systems, and flexible pipes.
• Perform FMEA-based risk assessments, identify validation needs, and define test plans, boundary conditions, and success criteria.
• Coordinate testing with internal and external partners and collaborate with global, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Work with suppliers using APQP methods to deliver high-quality, cost-effective design solutions.
• Investigate product, quality, and manufacturing issues, determine root causes, and implement containment and corrective actions.
• Plan project deliverables, conduct design reviews, communicate progress, and independently lead less complex projects.

Requirements

• Experience applying acoustics, vibration, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, structural, and materials engineering to product development.
• Product testing experience, including developing, executing, and documenting testing strategies.
• Strong technical problem-solving, analytical thinking, decision-making, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Foundational project management knowledge covering project phases, deliverables, critical paths, and project tools.
• Effective communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work onsite in Peterborough five days per week and travel less than 10%.
