Senior Manufacturing & Industrialisation Engineer (HTS)

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom; predominantly on-site

Salary: £50,000–£70,000 per year, dependent on skills and experience

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, production lines, factory layouts, workstations, tooling, and value streams.
• Lead the industrialisation of technically complex products moving from R&D and prototype manufacture into repeatable production.
• Establish process controls, standard work, manufacturing documentation, performance measures, and production readiness systems.
• Identify equipment and technology requirements, build CAPEX cases, and support new production equipment delivery.
• Improve safety, quality, cost, delivery, capacity, productivity, and flow across manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain stakeholders while coaching engineering, technical, and production teams.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or industrialisation, including ownership of production-line development and manufacturing scale-up.
• Experience transitioning products from R&D, development, or prototype manufacture into repeatable production.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis.
• Experience with process development, validation, production documentation, manufacturing controls, capacity, flow, cycle time, bottleneck analysis, OEE, and manufacturing KPIs.
• Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects and developing CAPEX requirements.
• Ability to work autonomously, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and create practical solutions in an evolving manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in advanced manufacturing, energy technology, industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace, defence, semiconductors, electronics, or medical devices.
• Experience with high-mix, low-volume, or technically complex manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, PFMEA, control plans, process capability, production readiness, ERP, or MRP systems.
• Chartered Engineer status, a relevant engineering degree, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
