TL;DR
Associate Researcher – Functional Fibers Pilot Operations (Functional Fibers/Pilot Plant Operations): Operating pilot-plant processes to produce Functional Fibers materials and products, collect experimental data, and support process development with an accent on hands-on experimentation, quality assurance, and safety. Focus on troubleshooting equipment, analyzing production-run data, maintaining GMP standards, and contributing to consumer product evaluation and next-generation technology development.

Location: On-site at GPDF / TSDC TECH CENTER, 5280 Vine Street, 5 days per week, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM

Salary: $61,600–$70,850 per year, plus bonus if applicable and benefits

What you will do

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot pilot-plant processes for Functional Fibers and related materials.
  • Prepare materials, monitor processes, perform quality checks, and maintain equipment.
  • Collect, organize, record, and initially analyze data from production runs and experiments.
  • Follow GMP, quality assurance, and safety requirements while identifying potential hazards and quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians to communicate observations, data, and recommendations.
  • Use digital systems including Nexus ELN, CISPRO, Veeva, Enovia, and Portal for laboratory records, material tracking, and information management.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a scientific or related field, or a high school diploma with relevant experience and interest.
  • Two-year or four-year degrees in non-engineering disciplines are also accepted.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, computer skills, record-keeping ability, and strong observational skills.
  • Safety-focused approach and ability to lift 45 pounds.
  • Availability to work on-site at TSDC five days per week from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available; employment eligibility requirements apply.
