TL;DR
Sr Associate Scientist - Conjugation Chemistry (Conjugation Chemistry/Vaccine Process Development): Developing and scaling glycoconjugate vaccine processes, including conjugation, purification, and analysis of intermediates and glycoconjugates with an accent on organic chemistry, chromatographic methods, and compliant laboratory documentation. Focus on optimizing robust and scalable processes, interpreting experimental data, resolving instrument and analytical challenges, and transferring processes to clinical manufacturing sites.
Location: On-site in Pearl River, New York, United States. Relocation support may be available based on business needs and eligibility. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. visa sponsorship is not available.
Salary: $68,600–$114,300 annual base salary, plus eligibility for a 7.5% performance bonus.

What you will do
- Support the development, optimization, and scale-up of glycoconjugate vaccine processes.
- Perform in-process analysis of glycoconjugates and intermediates using chemical and chromatographic methods.
- Evaluate process robustness, suitability, and scalability, and propose improvements with colleagues.
- Collaborate with fermentation, purification, analytical, and formulation development groups.
- Support technology transfer to internal and external clinical manufacturing sites.
- Document laboratory experiments electronically and prepare technical reports in compliance with SOP, cGMP, and GLP requirements.
Requirements
- BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline with 3–6 years of laboratory experience, or MS in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related discipline with 0–4 years of experience.
- Strong background in organic chemistry.
- Ability to operate and maintain relevant instruments, resolve technical issues, and execute analytical methods.
- Ability to independently analyze experimental data and draw conclusions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience documenting laboratory work in an electronic notebook.
Nice to have
- Experience in carbohydrate chemistry.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC, MALS, UV-Vis, NMR, and other routine laboratory instruments.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and scientific software.
