Scientist - Analytical Research and Development

Location: Groton, Connecticut, United States; on-premise work required. Candidates must have permanent U.S. work authorization. Relocation support may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $79,400–$132,400, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Develop analytical strategies for pharmaceutical drug substances and drug products across all development phases.
• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods while supporting manufacturing process development.
• Design stability studies for shelf-life assignments and develop impurity control strategies.
• Perform laboratory analyses, review peer work, delegate responsibilities, and evaluate analytical data.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, use predictive and data visualization tools, and solve technical development challenges.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory submission sections, review data, and evaluate new instrumentation and analytical approaches.

Requirements

• MS in Analytical Chemistry or a related field with 4–6 years of experience, or BS with 6–8 years of experience.
• Expertise in one or more relevant methodologies, including chromatography, dissolution, IR/Raman spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, particle size analysis, and NMR.
• Ability to meet timelines with minimal supervision and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, data visualization, and technical report-writing skills.
• Ability to work in laboratories, use laboratory equipment, perform calculations and data analysis, and lift items when required.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Pharmaceutical industry experience, including peptide therapeutics or trace-level impurity analysis.
• Experience with global regulatory submissions and separation technologies such as liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, or SFC.
• Experience with LIMS, chromatographic software, Veeva, electronic notebooks, modeling tools, or data visualization software.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot responsibly for problem solving.
