Propulsion Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Development, production, and operation of Nyx, a modular reusable orbital vehicle, alongside propulsion systems for future space vehicles and missions.

What you will do

• Prepare and execute engine- and component-level propulsion tests to evaluate hardware performance.
• Develop test plans, objectives, schedules, procedures, and test sequences, and lead daily test operations.
• Lead risk assessments and define mitigation actions to protect personnel and hardware during test campaigns.
• Interpret P&IDs and balance test requirements, test-article limits, and test-bench constraints.
• Collaborate with development engineers, test-bench and AIT teams, and external partners across test facilities.
• Process test data and prepare technical documentation, including reports, design reviews, and performance analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in propulsion testing or a related field.
• Proficiency in propulsion chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with engine testing or equivalent.
• Experience with propulsion simulation tools such as CEA, plus exposure to CAD software such as Siemens NX or CATIA and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Background in cryogenic propulsion.
• Proficiency in Python.
