ECAD Layout Design Engineer (PWB)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; full-time onsite position.

Salary: $38.00–$66.59 per hour base salary.

What you will do

• Design and lay out moderate to highly complex printed wiring boards and related documentation.
• Support electrical engineers with electrical hardware design, constraint entry, and constraint editing.
• Apply advanced packaging techniques, including dynamic wire-bond, complex flex, and 3D die stacking.
• Coordinate with design-for-manufacturing engineers to establish fabrication criteria and ensure manufacturability.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff, communicate project status and issues, and provide feedback on processes and work instructions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in PWB design or technical drafting with relevant tool expertise.
• Detailed knowledge of Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and Expedition, plus advanced packaging design tools such as VX.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and CAM350; familiarity with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of PWB assembly, fabrication, hardware assembly, or hardware testing.
• Associate degree or certificate from a two-year technical school in a relevant discipline, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Formal education in electronics or electrical circuit theory.
• Familiarity with IPC-7351, JEDEC-JP95, and MIL-STD-1835 standards.
