Senior Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Fully remote in Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom, or Spain

What you will do

• Architect and develop mission-critical APIs and systems for next-generation cloud-native payment services.
• Build robust, scalable Java services that support customer growth and future product offerings.
• Design, build, and run applications in AWS.
• Own key deliverables from concept through deployment and contribute to the technical direction of the platform.
• Coach and mentor engineers and provide constructive feedback through code reviews.

Requirements

• Highly proficient in building scalable Java services.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating AWS applications.
• Experience building high-performance applications with Spring.
• SQL experience, ideally with Oracle, Aurora, or PostgreSQL.
• Excellent English communication skills and strong collaboration abilities.
• Growth mindset, ownership, curiosity, and willingness to learn about card issuing and payments.

Nice to have

• Payments industry experience.
• OpenAPI documentation knowledge.
• Test-Driven Development with JUnit.
• AWS cloud infrastructure experience with AWS CDK.
• Experience with generative AI or AI agents for coding assistance, testing, or automation.
