Field Service Engineer (Biogas and Process Systems)

Location: Based in Denmark; frequent travel to industrial customer sites throughout Denmark and occasional international travel is required. The role includes on-call support outside regular business hours when needed.

What you will do

• Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify industrial process equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on biogas, CO₂ recovery, refrigeration, compression, and related installations.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process-related issues and identify root causes.
• Prepare and coordinate customer-site service visits, including tools, spare parts, documentation, and safety equipment.
• Provide technical recommendations to customers and act as the primary technical contact during site visits.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, timesheets, risk assessments, and non-conformity reports.

Requirements

• Technical degree or vocational qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, refrigeration technology, or an equivalent field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, Commissioning Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or in a similar technical role.
• Experience with industrial process equipment in customer-facing environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, pumps, compressors, valves, rotating equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, sensors, motors, and frequency drives.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs, plus basic knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation.
• Fluent Danish and English, both written and spoken, and a valid driver's license are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with refrigeration, gas compression, biogas, CO₂ recovery, pressure equipment, or industrial gas systems.
• International field service experience.
• Relevant safety certifications such as VCA, working-at-heights, or electrical safety certification.
• Knowledge of German, Dutch, French, Italian, or Swedish.
