OT Automation Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Billund, Denmark. Hybrid work with an average of 3 days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Design automation and robotics solutions for future-generation factories.
• Develop concepts, conduct feasibility studies, and transform early-stage ideas into practical manufacturing applications.
• Build, test, and prototype automation solutions that can scale into future operations.
• Support proof-of-concept activities and pilot phases for packaging and manufacturing platforms.
• Influence automation strategies and contribute to increasing automation maturity across future operations.
• Build partnerships with automation engineers, robotics specialists, manufacturing stakeholders, research teams, and global project groups.

Requirements

• Experience delivering automation or robotics solutions from concept through implementation.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting in industrial control systems.
• Experience developing and testing automation solutions in manufacturing environments.
• Technical contributions to automation, robotics, or manufacturing improvement projects.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and build effective partnerships.
• Fluent English is required for collaboration across global teams and multiple time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating sensor technologies in automation systems and equipment designs.
• Experience comparing automation platforms and assessing the strengths and limitations of different solutions.
• Experience with multiple automation brands and technologies.
• Experience contributing to proof-of-concept or prototype development initiatives.
