Waste Manager (Waste Management)

hirify.global is seeking a Waste Manager for its Dungeness project.

What you will do

• Develop and implement waste management strategies aligned with environmental and operational goals.
• Oversee waste segregation, storage, collection, transportation, and disposal.
• Manage waste carriers, recycling partners, disposal contractors, and other service providers.
• Maintain waste records, prepare reports, and track recycling and landfill diversion KPIs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve recycling, and strengthen sustainability performance.
• Manage waste budgets, conduct audits, deliver staff training, and coordinate with operations, engineering, facilities, and environmental teams.

Requirements

• Experience in waste management, environmental services, facilities, utilities, or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of UK waste legislation, Duty of Care, hazardous waste regulations, and waste carrier requirements.
• Experience managing waste contractors and service providers.
• Understanding of environmental management systems; ISO 14001 experience is desirable.
• Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with reporting tools and waste-tracking systems.
