HSEQ Manager (Banbury & Gloucester Sites) (Salvage and Waste Management): Supporting health, safety, environmental and quality systems across vehicle recycling and salvage operations with an accent on UK regulatory compliance, risk assessment, ISO management systems and incident investigation. Focus on conducting audits, managing hazardous materials and pollution prevention, delivering HSEQ training, and driving corrective actions across multiple operational sites.

Location: Banbury and Gloucester, United Kingdom; onsite across both operational sites

What you will do

  • Support and maintain health, safety, environmental and quality management systems across the Banbury and Gloucester sites.
  • Develop and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Monitor compliance with UK health and safety legislation, environmental permits, waste management regulations and ELV requirements.
  • Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 management systems, including audits and inspections.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and environmental events, identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
  • Deliver HSEQ training and work with regulators, auditors, contractors, customers and operational teams to improve safety and environmental performance.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in ELV processing, authorised treatment facilities, waste management, metal recycling, salvage or another high-risk industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK safety and environmental legislation, permits and waste management regulations.
  • Experience with hazardous materials, depollution, pollution prevention and fire risk controls.
  • Ability to translate legislation, permit conditions and operational requirements into practical site procedures.
  • Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder management, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Membership of IOSH, IEMA, CIWM or another relevant professional body.
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification and experience with ISO management systems.
  • Experience managing permitted waste sites, contractors and third-party suppliers.
  • Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle risks, lithium-ion battery management and emergency response.
  • WAMITAB Level 4 qualification in Waste & Resource Management.
