Health and Safety Specialist (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Cotes Park, United Kingdom; onsite role in a COMAH-regulated chemical manufacturing environment.

What you will do

• Support compliance with health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and COMAH obligations.
• Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments, audits, inspections, and hazard identification activities.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead accident prevention initiatives and monitor health and safety performance metrics.
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems through verification and auditing.
• Act as the site subject-matter expert for Process Safety Management and coordinate compliance actions.

Requirements

• Experience in EHS within a chemical manufacturing environment on a COMAH site.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Extensive experience with risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
• Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Experience auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and risk-based decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering safety inductions.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management.
• Understanding of ATEX requirements.
