People Advisor

Location: Abbot House, Westgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, United Kingdom. Full-time role with weekend availability and some weekend shifts required.

What you will do

• Provide initial assistance and guidance to teams on HR, payroll, right-to-work, systems-access, and operational process queries.
• Handle complex and sensitive people-related issues with empathy, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Analyse problems, troubleshoot issues, and provide effective solutions.
• Improve self-service by helping employees use available HR tools, resources, and technology.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels and manage workload priorities independently.
• Support weekend operations through scheduled weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Knowledge of HR people practices and processes, including payroll and HR compliance.
• Knowledge of GDPR processes and confidentiality requirements.
• Experience or knowledge of HR software; Workday HCM is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, prioritisation, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Availability to work some weekend shifts.
