Technician 3, Test Equipment Maintenance (Manufacturing)

Location: Bayan Lepas, Malaysia. Onsite role at the Bayan Lepas PN2 facility.

What you will do

• Set up, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain test cells, testers, baggers, VDCS, conveyors, and related production equipment.
• Resolve test cell yield and downtime issues to maintain product quality and production throughput.
• Investigate equipment-related quality incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform product conversions, equipment checklists, and preventive maintenance activities according to standard procedures.
• Monitor process input variables and equipment performance using KPOV, OEE, maintenance logs, and digital preventive maintenance systems.
• Support equipment upgrades, continuous improvement projects, engineer activities, and technical upskilling for team members.

Requirements

• Diploma or advanced qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
• At least 4–5 years of experience in manufacturing, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Hands-on knowledge of motors, bearings, gears, conveyors, pumps, compressors, AC/DC systems, three-phase systems, sensors, relays, and drives.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and pressure controls.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and equipment manuals, isolate failures, and correct equipment issues.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements, as well as ISO documentation practices and cleanroom protocols.

Nice to have

• Basic PLC and automation or controls troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance tools.
• Experience with test and measurement equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, alignment tools, torque wrenches, and calipers.
