Engineer - Equipment (Medical Devices)

What you will do

• Lead maintenance technicians in preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
• Own highly automated assembly and manufacturing equipment, ensuring machine performance, reliability, and uptime.
• Provide hands-on technical support for mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, PLC, sensor, motor, drive, and vision-system issues.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs, manage spare parts, and drive continuous equipment improvements.
• Conduct 8D root cause analysis, support customer complaint investigations, and prepare technical reports.
• Lead equipment upgrades, obsolescence and component replacement projects, while training technicians and providing after-hours support when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting highly automated assembly equipment, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
• Experience leading maintenance or equipment technicians and working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, vision systems, industrial automation, and pneumatic systems, including Festo and SMC components.
• Experience with equipment troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, root cause analysis, customer complaint investigations, technical reporting, and 8D methodology.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical training skills.

Nice to have

• Experience managing equipment obsolescence, upgrades, or migration projects.
• Exposure to Mitsubishi, Yamaha, or Stäubli six-axis and SCARA industrial robots.
