Senior Proprietary Power Trader (European Short-Term Markets)

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands

Salary: €110,000–€170,000 gross annually, including FlexBudget and 8% holiday allowance; bonus or collective profit sharing may apply.

What you will do

• Own and develop a proprietary power trading portfolio across European short-term markets.
• Develop and execute discretionary, fundamentally driven trading strategies.
• Identify opportunities created by weather patterns, renewable generation, outages, congestion and cross-border flows.
• Build market views and translate them into profitable trading positions.
• Manage positions, exposure, risk and drawdowns within agreed mandates and limits.
• Collaborate with traders, analysts and market specialists to improve trading performance and share market knowledge.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of trading experience.
• At least 5 years managing a proprietary trading book with direct P&L responsibility.
• Proven experience in short-term power trading and a track record of generating risk-adjusted returns in volatile markets.
• Strong understanding of European power market fundamentals and experience managing risk, exposure and drawdowns.
• Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Finance or a related discipline.
• Ability to work in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
