Salary: $94,960–$142,440 hourly pay range as stated in the posting.

What you will do

  • Lead the safety and health program for the Hawthorne Army Depot contract, including ISO 45001 coordination and compliance with OSHA, DOT, DoD, state, and federal requirements.
  • Direct assigned safety personnel, manage priorities and resources, and oversee documentation, reporting, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and document inspections, audits, surveys, and hazard assessments across depot operations.
  • Develop safety policies, procedures, training materials, and program guidance; deliver or coordinate safety training and support safety committees.
  • Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations involving personnel, ammunition, explosives, equipment, facilities, and operational activities.
  • Coordinate with depot leaders, government representatives, Human Resources, medical and testing resources, vendors, and other stakeholders on safety and compliance matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial safety, engineering, environmental health and safety, management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of progressive safety, health, industrial safety, explosives safety, ammunition operations safety, compliance, or related experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory, lead, or work-direction experience.
  • Knowledge of explosives, ammunition, industrial, and depot safety, including inspections, audits, incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety training.
  • U.S. or naturalized citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain required government, ATF, and NCIC III clearances and site certifications.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to perform physical duties in demanding environmental conditions, including wearing protective equipment.
