GNC Hardware Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Mountain View, California; full-time and on-site. The internship runs between May and September 2027 depending on university schedules.

Pay range: $40/hour for Bachelor's students, $45/hour for Master's students, and $50/hour for PhD students.

What you will do

• Take ownership of a new or existing test capability for a GNC component.
• Design, improve, and automate test setups and ground support equipment.
• Conduct analysis supporting spacecraft GNC development and testing.
• Perform testing and measurement activities on the lab bench and in clean-room environments.
• Collaborate with GNC engineers on spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control systems.

Requirements

• Coursework in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or applied physics.
• Basic programming skills.
• Experience with hardware/software integration or mechatronics projects.
• Interest in spacecraft attitude sensors and actuators.
• Must be able to work on-site in Mountain View, California.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or co-op experience.
• Experience on technical project teams such as Rocket Club, Formula SAE, or Solar Car.
