Installation Technician (Telecommunications)

Location: Schaumburg, Illinois, USA; on-site work at customer homes and businesses

Salary: $20.75–$35.06 per hour; average starting earnings of $43,160 per year

What you will do

• Install and activate high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services.
• Install new lines, identify wire and cable colors, and configure customer networks.
• Work independently at customer homes and businesses while providing service and troubleshooting installation issues.
• Perform physical work including climbing ladders and working in small spaces or at heights up to 28 feet.
• Respond to overtime assignments, emergency callouts, evening, weekend, and holiday work as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds and meet ladder-safety requirements.
• Ability to work in small spaces and at heights up to 28 feet.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, overtime, emergency callouts, and holidays.
• Successful completion of pre-employment assessments.
