Installation Technician (Telecommunications)

Location: Buffalo Grove, Illinois, United States; field work at customer homes and businesses

Salary: $20.75–$35.06 per hour; average starting earnings of $43,160 per year

What you will do

• Install and activate high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services.
• Run new lines, connect equipment, and configure customer Wi-Fi networks.
• Work independently at customer homes and businesses while delivering reliable service.
• Diagnose and solve installation and connectivity problems.
• Work on ladders and at heights of up to 28 feet when required.

Requirements

• Must work in the Buffalo Grove, Illinois area and at customer locations.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, overtime, emergency callouts, and holidays.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds and meet ladder-safety requirements, including weighing less than 325 pounds.
• Ability to work in small spaces or aloft and identify wire and cable colors.
• High school diploma or GED and successful completion of pre-employment assessments.
