Focus on managing lobbying consultants, developing the Legislative Branch team, and navigating political risk across the congressional landscape.
Location: Washington, DC; on-site. U.S. Government export regulations require U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
Salary: $224,000–$260,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do
- Build and manage relationships with congressional leadership, defense committees, appropriations committees, oversight committees, members, and staff.
- Set legislative strategy and translate company and program priorities into legislative language and policy asks.
- Lead congressional outreach, hearings, briefings, member meetings, and political-risk management.
- Manage external lobbying consultants and firms to expand congressional reach.
- Develop the Legislative Branch team, starting with one direct report.
- Coordinate with Government Relations, Public Policy, defense budget, Executive Branch, and Strategic Engagement functions.
Requirements
- Career experience spanning congressional staff work and corporate government affairs leadership.
- Track record of securing provisions in enacted defense authorization and appropriations bills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across the political spectrum in a nonpartisan capacity.
- Experience designing stakeholder engagement or political giving strategies for a changing Congress.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including speechwriting, public statements, or testimony preparation.
- Currently registered as a federal lobbyist or immediately eligible to register; holds or can obtain a national security clearance.
