TL;DR
Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer (HVAC): Developing and integrating refrigeration subsystems for commercial water-to-water chillers and heat pumps with an accent on system modeling, component integration, performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Focus on validating systems in laboratory testing, calibrating performance models with test data, and solving complex HVAC design and product application problems.

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States. Hybrid schedule: onsite Monday through Thursday; Friday work location is flexible based on work requirements.

Annual base salary: $97,406.66–$135,834.99.

What you will do

  • Develop refrigeration subsystems for commercial water-to-water chillers and heat pumps, meeting performance, regulatory, and cost targets.
  • Model chiller and heat pump performance to solve system design and product application problems.
  • Lead and support system performance, reliability, and quality improvement initiatives, including component selection and interaction evaluation.
  • Provide performance selections and custom design modifications to support customer and application requirements.
  • Develop and execute product validation test plans covering performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Create and calibrate performance models using laboratory and factory test data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 6 years of engineering work experience.
  • Mechanical Engineering is preferred; a Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
  • Understanding of refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow, and ventilation systems.
  • Ability to apply heat transfer and fluid flow concepts to real-world engineering problems.
  • Ability to use data analytics tools with laboratory and factory performance data.
  • Strong problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with HVAC product design or application, thermodynamic computations, pressure vessel design, compressors, motors, controls, or heat transfer technologies.
  • Knowledge of data-driven decision-making and programming.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
