Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (Biotech)

Location: South San Francisco, California, USA; onsite at headquarters four days per week

Salary: $139,000–$171,000 per year

What you will do

• Support enterprise-level annual and multiyear planning, semi-annual forecasting, strategic initiatives, sensitivity analysis, and departmental budgets.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, metrics reporting, and financial reporting for clinical trials.
• Prepare monthly close activities, including clinical trial accruals.
• Deliver monthly and quarterly performance reporting, variance analysis, and communications for functional leaders, management, and the Board of Directors.
• Build finance partnerships with Clinical Operations, program management, external CROs, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze financial data, maintain SOX documentation, and provide insights for business decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–7 years of related experience in a growth company or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, US GAAP, financial modeling, and forecasting.
• Ability to meet fixed deadlines, communicate proactively, and build effective relationships.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must work onsite at the South San Francisco headquarters at least four days per week.

Nice to have

• MBA or CPA.
• Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Big Four experience focused on the life sciences industry.
