Data, Reporting & GenAI Analyst Intern (AI)

Location: Onsite at the Seagate office in Suntech at Cybercity, Penang, Malaysia. Travel required: None.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain business reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations using business intelligence tools.
• Use Generative AI to support data exploration, SQL development, documentation, insight summarization, and stakeholder communication with human validation.
• Build natural-language analytics experiences for trusted business data discovery.
• Gather, clean, prepare, and model structured and unstructured data with data engineering and analytics teams.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
• Present findings through visual storytelling and AI-assisted narratives while following responsible AI, privacy, security, testing, version control, and documentation practices.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Basic to intermediate SQL skills, including extraction, joins, aggregation, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or another business intelligence or visualization tool.
• Understanding of data visualization, dashboard usability, analytical storytelling, and exploratory analysis.
• Basic programming or data analysis experience in Python, R, or a similar language.
• Exposure to Generative AI concepts such as large language models, prompt engineering, structured outputs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, AI agents, tool calling, and model evaluation.
