Mission Architecture Intern (Summer 2027) (Aerospace)

Location: Full-time on-site in Woodbridge, Virginia. Occasional travel to Muon and customer facilities for in-person meetings and presentations, less than 20%. The position requires access to export-controlled information and eligibility under U.S. government export regulations.

Pay range: $40/hour for Bachelor's students, $45/hour for Master's students, and $50/hour for PhD students.

What you will do

• Design and validate constellation architectures that address customer needs.
• Contribute to constellation solutions and simulation tool development.
• Conduct engineering analyses and write technical reports for roadmap development and customer RFIs and RFPs.
• Use software tools and code to evaluate engineering trade studies and system design questions.
• Support technical responses and requirements development from proposal through contract award.

Requirements

• Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
• Ability to draw conclusions from the most important available factors and data.
• Software skills in one or more of Python, Julia, Matlab, C, or C++.
• Interest in working in a fast-paced environment with changing technical challenges.
• Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under applicable U.S. government regulations.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or co-op experience.
• Experience on technical project teams such as rocket clubs, Formula SAE, or solar car teams.
• Proposal writing or customer-facing experience.
• Experience supporting science teams in mission development.
• Spacecraft or constellation design, build, or operations experience.
