Employee & Labor Relations Manager UK

What you will do

• Advise on high-risk and complex disciplinary, grievance, performance, misconduct, discrimination, and whistleblowing cases across the UK, Ireland, and South Africa.
• Support collective consultations, negotiations, industrial relations strategies, settlements, external claims, and regulatory matters in partnership with Legal.
• Develop and implement employee and labor relations policies, frameworks, and guidance aligned with local legislation and global standards.
• Advise on restructures, TUPE transfers, right-sizing, and other organizational change programmes, including risk assessment, consultation planning, and communications.
• Use data, operational metrics, automation, and AI to identify trends, improve service delivery, reduce ER risk, and enhance employee experience.
• Build relationships with senior leaders, HRBPs, Legal, Compliance, employee representatives, and external partners while providing executive-level updates and delivering ER/LR training.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of significant employee relations and labor relations experience in a multinational or complex environment.
• Broad knowledge of employment law across multiple geographies and experience managing sensitive, high-risk cases.
• Experience coaching senior leaders and collaborating with employee representative bodies and internal and external partners.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, continuous improvement, and operational HR skills.
• Fluent English is required, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting the UK, Ireland, or South Africa.
• Background in HR business partnering, Legal, or an employee relations centre of excellence.
• AI fluency and experience with employee relations case management tools.
