Quality Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States; on-site five days per week

Annual base salary: $77,963.33–$109,340.00

What you will do

• Supervise plant quality inspectors, assign daily coverage, balance workloads, and coordinate shift handoffs.
• Lead shift start-up meetings and provide direction, coaching, performance feedback, and recognition or corrective action.
• Oversee first-piece, in-process, last-piece, and final inspections, ensuring compliance with inspection plans, sampling methods, control plans, and work instructions.
• Review inspection findings, nonconforming material, defects, trends, and quality alerts; coordinate containment and escalation activities.
• Train inspectors, maintain qualification records, assess competency, and coordinate cross-training and backup coverage.
• Track inspection productivity, accuracy, escapes, rework, scrap, response time, and standard-work compliance while partnering with production, engineering, supplier quality, and operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with extensive on-the-job experience.
• 3+ years of direct manufacturing inspection experience and 5+ years in a manufacturing quality control or assurance role.
• 2+ years of formal supervisory or team lead experience, including mentoring inspectors or leading shift handoffs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field preferred.
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
• Awareness of Lean Manufacturing/5S, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949.
