Director, Portfolio Insights and Analysis (Pharmaceuticals)

Location: Raritan, New Jersey, United States of America; up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $150,000–$258,750 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a global insights center of excellence supporting portfolio decisions, long-range financial planning, business planning, and enterprise business reviews.
• Build competitive intelligence, market research, forecasting, and portfolio analytics capabilities across Innovative Medicine.
• Develop portfolio analyses, scenarios, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership, regional management, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Advance the technology roadmap, including Signal and Margo platforms, and introduce AI and advanced analytics use cases.
• Develop a global insights roadmap and playbook to support customer insights and clinical pipeline innovation.
• Co-lead the Insights and Analytics Forum and partner with therapeutic area, disease area, commercialization, strategy, and business development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in business, quantitative disciplines, or life sciences is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in analytics and insights, forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, or a related field.
• 5+ years of leadership experience developing and driving insights, analytics, or commercial strategy.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.
• Broad understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, including clinical development, regulatory strategy, and competitive dynamics.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, prioritization, and independent working skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading primary market research or competitive intelligence projects.
• Experience with pharmaceutical asset valuation, pre-launch planning, portfolio strategy, or behavioral science.
• Knowledge of scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial processes.
