TL;DR
Medical Assistant-Urology Full Time Days (Urology/Patient Care): Supporting physicians and nurses at a urology clinic by preparing patients, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting with clinical procedures, and performing administrative functions with an accent on vital signs, venipuncture, ECGs, specimen collection, and exam-room safety. Focus on assisting with urology procedures, maintaining equipment and supplies, documenting patient information, and delivering safe, efficient ambulatory care.

Location: Grayslake, Illinois, at the urology clinic; may require travel to Glenview and Lake Forest clinics. Monday through Friday, day shift, 40 hours per week.

Salary: $19.13–$25.83 per hour

What you will do

  • Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, update medical information, and support efficient patient flow.
  • Assist physicians and nurses with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, and procedure trays.
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, stock, and maintain exam rooms, instruments, equipment, medications, vaccines, and supplies.
  • Document patient information, communicate changes in patient condition, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Provide professional patient support, participate in staff meetings, and perform specialty-related delegated procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current or eligible certification through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NAHP; certification must be completed within six months of employment.
  • American Heart Association-accredited BLS/CPR certification.
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Grayslake and travel to Glenview and Lake Forest clinics when required.

Nice to have

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
