Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (with RNFA) - Orthopedic Surgery

Location: 1000 N. Westmoreland, Lake Forest, Illinois, United States. Full-time, Monday–Friday day shift with weekday daytime call; no overnight or weekend call is currently required.

Salary: USD 61.00–79.67 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide advanced clinical care across outpatient orthopedic clinics, inpatient services, and surgical settings.
• Perform patient histories, physical examinations, clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Manage assigned patients, prescribe or order medications and therapies, and order or interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and procedures within clinical privileges.
• Provide first-assist support in the operating room and collaborate with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and students while serving as a mentor, preceptor, and clinical resource.
• Participate in quality improvement, research, committees, and specialty education initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing or Physician Assistant program.
• For APRNs: acute care certification is required, although inpatient NP experience may be accepted in lieu of certification; first-assist certification is required for APRNs.
• Current Illinois licensure is required for the applicable Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Physician Assistant role, along with required national APRN certification where applicable.
• Credentialing and privileges through the hirify.global Medical Staff Office.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Ability to obtain controlled-substance licensure and a DEA number after licensing, where applicable.

Nice to have

• At least one year of inpatient and surgical APP experience.
• Orthopedic experience.
