TL;DR
Quality Practice Advisor (HEDIS): Advising and educating physician practices and IPAs on HEDIS measures, medical record documentation, risk adjustment, and coding with an accent on provider quality performance and compliance with state, federal, and NCQA standards. Focus on analyzing quality and risk adjustment data, coaching providers on gap closure, maintaining HEDIS abstraction accuracy, and traveling to provider offices.

Location: Hybrid fieldwork role requiring residence in Texas, with preference for Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. Travel to provider offices may reach 75% of working time.

Salary: $27.02–$48.55 per hour.

What you will do

  • Educate physician practices and IPAs on HEDIS measures, medical record documentation, and ICD-9/10 and CPT coding.
  • Collect, summarize, trend, and present provider quality and risk adjustment performance data.
  • Coach provider practices on improvement opportunities and quality gap closure.
  • Collaborate with Provider Relations and other provider-facing teams on Quality, Risk Adjustment, claims, and encounters.
  • Develop and maintain clinical relationships with providers across product lines.
  • Maintain quality KPIs and HEDIS abstraction accuracy in line with corporate standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in HEDIS record collection and risk adjustment coding.
  • One of the following credentials is required: CCS, LPN, LCSW, LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, LVN, RN, APRN, HCQM, CHP, CPHQ, CPC, CPC-A, or CBCS.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must reside in Texas; the role requires hybrid fieldwork and travel to provider offices.

Nice to have

  • LVN, RN, CPC, CPC-A, CRC, or CPHQ credentials.
  • RHIT certification, subject to applicable state requirements for relevant health-plan positions.
