Clinical Practice Specialist (Nursing)

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite, day shift

Salary: USD 40.50–64.80 per hour

What you will do

• Lead clinical education, orientation, annual competency programs, skills assessments, and staff professional development.
• Monitor quality and safety data, identify practice gaps, and develop improvement plans with unit and operational leaders.
• Facilitate interprofessional teams and contribute to clinical process improvement, policy updates, and patient-care initiatives.
• Mentor and implement evidence-based practice projects, order sets, practice guidelines, and clinical research activities.
• Coach and mentor nursing staff, provide bedside and just-in-time teaching, and support staff certification and competency.
• Collaborate with nursing leaders, physicians, committees, and healthcare stakeholders to advance clinical practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Master’s in Science in Nursing, or commitment to obtain it within four years of assuming the role.
• Registered Nursing license issued by the State of Illinois.
• Certification in a related clinical area, or eligibility and commitment to obtain certification.
• 3–5 years of experience in the specific clinical area.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
