CMP Principal Maintenance Technician (Semiconductor)

Location: Malta, New York, United States; onsite at the Fab 8 semiconductor manufacturing facility. B shift nights follows an alternating schedule of 12-hour shifts, including Sunday–Tuesday and alternating Saturdays.

Salary: $58,400–$100,800 per year, based on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Monitor, sustain, and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes in the assigned area.
• Schedule and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets.
• Use mechanical, electronic, computer, and software skills to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Monitor, control, and test equipment for manufacturing readiness and recover tools after process interruptions.
• Document events, complete shift pass-downs, and communicate equipment status to lead technicians and engineers.
• Collaborate with production teams and area engineers while following FAB8 safety and operating procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus a two-year technical or associate degree in a relevant discipline, equivalent military training, or equivalent experience.
• At least four years of direct experience in semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor equipment and facilities maintenance, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• English fluency required for written and verbal communication.
• Basic computer navigation skills, including Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
• Ability to work onsite in a cleanroom environment, wear required PPE, and remain standing, walking, and performing physical maintenance activities for most of a 12-hour shift.
• Willingness to work flexible alternating day or night shifts; the position is assigned to B shift nights.

Nice to have

• Six or more years of semiconductor manufacturing or equipment maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of semiconductor processing and process equipment.
• Experience reviewing statistical process control charts and troubleshooting out-of-control conditions.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with structured problem-solving, hand tools, and continuous improvement projects.
