Sr. Scientist, Lab Manager, Cell & Genetic Medicines

What you will do

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Cambridge laboratory and serve as the central contact for lab-related needs.
• Manage lab space, shared equipment, consumables, reagents, infrastructure, and capacity planning.
• Coordinate lab moves, equipment installation and qualification, maintenance, repairs, service contracts, and lifecycle planning.
• Develop processes for shared spaces, equipment, inventory, onboarding, documentation, and accountability.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve laboratory efficiency and scientific productivity.
• Partner with scientists, procurement, EHS, Biosafety, facilities, IT, vendors, and site operations on safety, automation, purchasing, inspections, and infrastructure needs.

Requirements

• BS or MS in biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, immunology, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline, with 4–6 years of relevant industry laboratory experience.
• Significant hands-on experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or similarly complex research laboratory.
• Strong understanding of mammalian cell culture and molecular and cell biology workflows.
• Experience managing laboratory equipment, shared resources, infrastructure, or laboratory operations.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, solve operational problems independently, and collaborate across scientific and operational teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with scientists across levels and disciplines.

Nice to have

• Experience with cell therapy, viral vectors, immuno-oncology, lentiviral workflows, or BSL-2/BSL-2+ laboratory environments.
• Experience supporting automated laboratory systems or high-throughput screening.
• Experience with laboratory build-outs, equipment installation and qualification, or expansion of laboratory capabilities.
• Experience with ELNs such as Benchling, inventory systems, or laboratory asset-management software.
