Junior SAP SME (SAP S/4HANA)

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States; on-site. Candidates should be US citizens and able to meet the required security clearance and investigation standards.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of SAP ABAP programs in SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Assist with designing and modernizing interfaces between SAP and external enterprise systems using OData, REST, SOAP, BAPIs, RFCs, and IDocs.
• Prepare technical specifications, interface designs, data mappings, test scripts, deployment instructions, and operational documentation.
• Perform unit, integration, regression, and interface testing while troubleshooting data-processing, ABAP, and integration issues.
• Support SAP transport requests, controlled code promotion, production deployments, defect resolution, and post-deployment validation.
• Collaborate with developers, integration engineers, functional analysts, solution architects, and government stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Approximately one to three years of SAP development, integration, internship, academic, or related technical experience.
• Foundational knowledge of SAP ABAP and SAP S/4HANA architecture and development concepts.
• Understanding of OData, APIs, BAPIs, RFCs, REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience or knowledge of technical documentation, software development lifecycle, testing, configuration management, and release management.
• US citizenship and ability to meet security requirements, including Secret clearance and applicable Moderate Risk, Non-Critical Sensitive/IT-II investigation requirements.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SAP IDocs, CDS views, ABAP Objects, SAP Fiori, SAP Gateway, or SAP Business Technology Platform.
• Experience with SAP interface monitoring, error handling, batch processing, job scheduling, modernization, or migration initiatives.
• Exposure to middleware, API-management, enterprise integration platforms, Agile or Scrum, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience in federal government, Department of Defense, or other regulated environments.
• Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager or comparable application lifecycle-management tools.
