Senior Lead, Security Engineering and Operations (Cybersecurity)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. The role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $114,500–$194,700 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Design, engineer, and operate enterprise security platforms across zero-trust, SASE/SSE, network security, vulnerability management, AI guardrails, and SaaS protection.
• Manage IPS, next-generation firewalls, secure web gateways, CASB, cloud access protection, browser isolation, remote access, and internet traffic inspection.
• Develop AI gateway controls governing the use of LLMs and AI services.
• Integrate security platforms with ServiceNow, SIEM systems, and enterprise reporting workflows.
• Support platform health, upgrades, resilience, capacity, lifecycle management, and vendor escalations.
• Define security metrics, prepare audit evidence, and create runbooks and executive-ready documentation.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, network security, or platform engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with at least one SSE/SASE platform, including ZTNA, secure web gateway policies, segmentation, connector architecture, and operating model design.
• Working knowledge of IPS and next-generation firewall platforms, vulnerability management, and enterprise security tooling.
• Strong networking fundamentals covering TCP/IP, routing, DNS, TLS/PKI, proxies, IPsec/GRE tunneling, and segmentation.
• Experience with SAML/OIDC, Entra ID, conditional access, Python, PowerShell, REST/JSON, ServiceNow, SIEM platforms, and enterprise reporting.
• Experience in regulated environments involving control evidence, operational resilience, risk acceptance, issue management, and regulatory response.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI gateways, prompt-injection defenses, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, or MITRE ATLAS.
• ServiceNow Vulnerability Response or USEM implementation experience.
• Low-code automation or Terraform/IaC experience.
