Principal Security Lead (Cybersecurity)

Location: Tysons Corner, Virginia, United States

Salary: $220,000–$250,000 per year, plus potential performance bonuses and additional incentives.

What you will do

• Lead cybersecurity strategy, architecture, and implementation for mission-critical applications and data platforms in classified cloud environments.
• Lead government clients through Authority to Operate authorization and continuous ATO sustainment activities.
• Integrate security requirements into solution design, development, deployment, and operations with engineering, architecture, and program teams.
• Drive risk assessments, compliance activities, security reviews, audit readiness, monitoring, incident response, and threat mitigation.
• Design and maintain security controls including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, encryption, identity management, and access controls.
• Lead, coach, delegate work to, and support the professional development of a 6–8-person Security team.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting federal government systems, including RMF, ATO packages, and continuous ATO sustainment.
• Experience leading a 6–8-person security team, including delegation, performance evaluations, coaching, and career development.
• Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, RMF, ICD 503, FISMA, FedRAMP, and security overlays, with experience supporting IL5, IL6, SIPR, and JWICS environments.
• Experience with AWS security, Zero Trust, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, IAM, ABAC, secure SDLC practices, eMASS, Xacta, vulnerability management, intrusion detection and prevention, and Splunk.

Nice to have

• CISSP or equivalent DoD 8140 IAT Level III certification.
