Head of AI Underwriting Products

Location: Chicago, IL; this role operates within a normal office environment in Chicago. Occasional travel is required. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $225,000–$300,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and position location. Incentive compensation may also apply.

What you will do

• Own the vision, roadmap, and business outcomes for AI-enabled lending and underwriting products.
• Lead modernization of lending processes, capabilities, workflows, platforms, and supporting tools.
• Develop the medium- and long-term strategy for the US lending product portfolio, including innovation and investment priorities.
• Assess AI-enabled changes for client experience, operations, controls, risk, and regulatory impacts.
• Partner with technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, finance, sales, and enterprise strategy teams.
• Influence roadmap decisions, trade-offs, target-state architecture, and operating approaches in a complex matrixed environment.

Requirements

• University degree in business, finance, commerce, engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 10+ years of progressive experience in lending, product management, transformation, strategy, or related financial services leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of lending products, underwriting processes, lending lifecycles, operations, controls, and enabling technologies.
• Experience with product ownership, roadmap development, strategic transformation, and large cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiarity with emerging AI capabilities and their use in financial institutions.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, influencing, relationship management, risk awareness, and execution skills.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience developing business cases, executive presentations, and roadmap materials.
