Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Northeast (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy)

Location: United States (East). Field-based role requiring daily travel to customer accounts, including long-distance driving and flying, with overnight and weekend travel of up to 75%.

Base compensation: $225,000–$245,000 annually.

What you will do

• Build and maintain trusted scientific relationships with pediatric neurologists, neuromuscular specialists, neurologists, and other medical experts.
• Exchange clinical and research information with healthcare professionals and capture field insights for strategic planning.
• Deliver fair-balanced, objective scientific presentations to healthcare professionals, payors, and patient organizations in response to unsolicited requests.
• Support clinical studies, investigator-initiated trials, scientific collaborations, publications, medical education, and training initiatives.
• Prepare and deliver scientific materials for marketed and pipeline assets, including presentations and interactive discussion groups.
• Attend national and regional medical meetings and ensure all activities comply with regulatory, quality, and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree such as PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP, MSN, MS, or Genetic Counselor qualification.
• At least 8 years of related progressive experience, including a minimum of 5 years in an MSL role.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific data to healthcare professionals.
• Valid driver’s license, personal automobile, and active vehicle insurance in good standing.
• Ability to meet facility-specific vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background and drug checks, and proof of immunizations.
• Ability to travel daily and complete overnight and weekend travel of up to 75%, including travel outside the assigned territory when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, neuromuscular disorders, genetics, rare diseases, or orphan products.
• Experience supporting rare or ultra-rare therapeutics across clinical development and commercial stages.
• Experience translating complex scientific data into trainings, presentations, and face-to-face exchanges.
• Experience in a small, rapidly growing biotech or start-up environment.
• Experience with specialty-pharmacy-distributed high-cost products and strategic partnership development.
