Senior Manager Parenteral and Liquids Development (Pharmaceutical R&D)

Location: Beerse, Antwerp, Belgium; on-site role

Salary: €96,000–€165,025 annual base pay, plus an annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Advance formulation and process development for small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides.
• Develop parenteral and liquid formulations and advanced drug delivery platforms across discovery through commercialization.
• Lead technology transfers, regulatory submissions, CMC objectives, timelines, resource planning, and prioritization across multiple programs.
• Define control strategies, support GMP compliance, and uphold quality, safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Recruit and mentor scientists while shaping PLD strategy, new technologies, patient-centric designs, and intellectual property.
• Coordinate with Pharmaceutical and Material Sciences, Analytical Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, academia, and CDMOs.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering, or a Master's degree with equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in drug product development.
• Deep experience in parenteral and liquid formulation and process development for synthetic compounds.
• Experience with advanced drug delivery platforms, preclinical formulations, developability assessments, clinical development, scale-up, and technology transfer.
• Track record in criticality analysis, control strategies, regulatory filings, and commercialization.
• Experience leading teams, developing scientists, and working across interdisciplinary functions.

Nice to have

• Experience with solutions, microsuspensions, nanosuspensions, liposomes, microspheres, biodegradable rods, in situ forming gels, or SEDDS.
• Experience across oral, buccal, intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, topical, nasal, ophthalmic, transdermal, intrathecal, or inhalation delivery routes.
• Experience partnering with academia and contract development and manufacturing organizations.
