Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Location: Onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Travel is minimal and working hours are flexible.

Salary: $93,700–$140,600 per year for Colorado Springs, Colorado.

What you will do

• Deploy, manage, and maintain Microsoft Azure resources across multiple environments.
• Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code repositories with Bicep, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Troubleshoot Azure deployments, resource integrations, and user access through Azure Entra ID.
• Support Azure Kubernetes Service, virtual machines, and applications running in cloud environments.
• Design and maintain secure network interconnectivity using Azure Firewall Policies, User-Defined Routes, Application Gateway, and related resources.
• Collaborate with DevOps, software, and systems engineers in an Agile rapid-prototyping environment.

Requirements

• Active U.S. government SECRET security clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for TS/SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or relevant experience or certifications in place of the degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in cloud engineering or network engineering.
• Experience with Bicep, Terraform, or similar Infrastructure as Code practices.
• At least 1 year of experience with Azure or AWS services using command-line tools and cloud portals.
• At least 2 years of experience with GNU/Linux commands, shell navigation, and Git-based repositories, plus the ability to solve complex technical problems independently.

Nice to have

• AWS or Azure cloud certification, such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals.
• DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce qualification, Security+, or equivalent.
• Experience with Azure Entra ID, Azure Kubernetes Service, virtual machines, Azure Firewall, and Azure networking resources.
• Experience operating or deploying air-gapped cloud networks.
