Mid-Level Cloud Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Azure infrastructure for data engineering, analytics, application, and AI/ML workloads.
• Provision Azure networking, storage, compute, databases, Kubernetes, Key Vault, monitoring, and connectivity services.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools, and automate infrastructure with scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
• Implement cloud security controls including RBAC, managed identities, secrets management, encryption, network segmentation, and least-privilege access.
• Support Azure Databricks, Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL integrations and operations.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, optimize cloud costs, support disaster recovery and high availability, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. federal security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or a related field, including 3+ years of hands-on Azure experience.
• Experience with Azure infrastructure, networking, security, compute resources, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Azure CLI and/or PowerShell, Git-based source control, and collaborative software development practices.
• Strong understanding of VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, private connectivity, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and Key Vault.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Microsoft Purview.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/AKS, Python, DevSecOps, FinOps, or machine learning workloads in Azure.
• Experience in federal or highly regulated environments and with FedRAMP, NIST, or other federal security frameworks.
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
