Software Engineer - SDET (Fintech)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $86,500–$134,400 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify commercial or end-user applications.
• Write code, complete programming tasks, and perform software testing and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain test automation tools using technologies such as Selenium, Java, REST APIs, Python, and Groovy.
• Document software processes, designs, installation procedures, maintenance procedures, test results, and analysis.
• Lead root cause analysis and defect resolution activities.
• Collaborate with users and cross-functional teams to define requirements, communicate status, and support development, quality engineering, automation testing, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Java/J2EE and JavaScript.
• Experience with Angular, Node, Spring, MySQL, and Linux.
• Experience with software testing principles, quality assurance, test automation, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of software engineering concepts, Agile development practices, and at least one programming language such as Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing cost estimates, budgets, or schedules for software projects.
• Experience supporting commercial or end-user applications and installation or maintenance procedures.
• Experience using Generative AI and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and productivity.
• Experience leading initiatives and navigating ambiguity.
