Security Engineer, Level 5, Infrastructure Security (AI)

Location: Los Angeles or Palo Alto, United States; expected to work in an office 4+ days per week under hirify.global's “default together” policy.

Base salary: $178,000–$313,000 annually depending on the assigned U.S. pay zone, plus equity in the form of RSUs.

What you will do

• Design, architect, and implement security controls and frameworks for backend services and cloud infrastructure.
• Improve production security controls covering visibility, hardening, identity, authentication, networking, and deployment policies.
• Conduct security reviews of platforms, backend services, and business application integrations.
• Identify, triage, and remediate vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across cloud environments and backend systems.
• Implement security controls in CI/CD pipelines and embed secure design practices with Infrastructure, Developer Productivity, and Product Engineering teams.
• Guide the secure adoption of LLMs and AI tools, mentor junior engineers, and promote operational excellence and privacy.

Requirements

• 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s industry experience, or equivalent advanced-degree experience in security engineering.
• Technical degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong development skills in Java, C++, Python, or another relevant language such as Go.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, service mesh technologies, networking, or Linux internals.
• Hands-on experience deploying and securing services in multi-cloud environments, especially AWS and Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of OpenID Connect, OAuth, identity federation, CSPM platforms, and native AWS/GCP security services.
