Senior Software Test Engineer (AI Test Automation)

Location: Toronto, Canada

Salary: CAD $137,600–$172,000 annual base salary for the Canada hiring base; variable pay, equity, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Build software, test infrastructure, and tooling that help engineering teams deliver reliable software.
• Research AI-augmented agentic solutions and lead large-scale test automation initiatives.
• Optimize build and test pipelines with Infrastructure and SRE teams for speed, coverage, and reliability.
• Monitor test environments and support error and incident resolution.
• Define end-to-end test strategies, analyze requirements, create test plans, and design regression, performance, and load tests.
• Lead quality initiatives and use quality and performance metrics to drive improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software testing experience, ideally with web applications.
• 7+ years working directly with product teams in an Agile environment.
• 6+ years of experience in UI and API automation.
• 1+ year developing AI-augmented agentic testing frameworks and evaluations for AI-driven applications.
• 6+ years working with CI/CD build pipelines focused on test automation, including GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Kubernetes.
• Experience developing and maintaining test automation tools with Puppeteer, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, and MCP servers.

Nice to have

• Startup experience and testing across the Agile development lifecycle.
• Experience with Postman, REST-assured, or Pact.
• Programming or scripting proficiency in JavaScript, Java, or Python.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
